vimsh vmsvc/tools.cancelinstall

Usage: tools.cancelinstall vmid

Cancel the tools installation process

Cancel a stuck vmware tools install

First find the vm id:

vmware-cmd /vmfs/volumes/datastore-name/vm-folder/vmx-file.vmx getid

then run:

vmware-vim-cmd vmsvc/tools.cancelinstall idnumber
